South Gate Mission:

Equipping Every Believer to GO and Make Disciples!

Know Christ

Through Salvation, Worship, and Prayer

Worship: Sundays at 10:15 am

Our Worship Service includes a time of worship through music, including a band, soloists, and a choir. We sing a blend of many styles of worship music, from traditional hymns sung in an updated style to current praise and worship songs. Our worship choir also sings specials from time to time. We also have a handbell choir which plays several times during the year. This is followed by a message from Interim Pastor Hosea Bilyeu which comes straight from the Bible – sometimes a study of a book of the Bible, and sometimes a series on a particular subject or theme.

We have several opportunities to gather for prayer. Each Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm (August-November & January-May), a church-wide time of prayer is held in our prayer room, room 141. All are welcome to come and pray for the needs of the church body and for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Most months, an evening of Church-Wide Prayer is held on a Sunday evening. All are invited to come for a time of singing and prayer for specific ministry events or around specific themes. Check the church calendar for the next Church-Wide Prayer Time!
[Note: We are currently not meeting together for prayer, due to the coronavirus pandemic.]

Grow Spiritually

Through Annual Discipleship Groups

“Jesus came near and said to them, ‘All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” Matthew 28:18-20 (CSB)
The very last thing that Jesus said to His followers before ascending to heaven was a command. Not just any command, but a command to make disciples of Him. It did not apply only to His followers with a certain gift-set or from a specific time in history, but rather to all followers of Jesus throughout the ages. Wherever you are in your Christian journey, there is a next step. Yours may be to accept Christ, to begin sharing your faith, to be discipled yourself, or to begin discipling others.
South Gate has trained many to lead Disciple Groups – small groups of 3-5 (same gender). In a Discipleship Group, you will receive a Bible reading plan (with 5 readings each week) and a journal to record what God says to you through His Word and how to apply them in their lives. Each week, the group meets to discuss the readings from that week and a lesson on the basics of the faith. There is a verse to memorize each week, and the group prays for each others’ needs, as well. New groups are added as leaders are available.
Check with Interim Minister of Discipleship and Assimilation P.K. to find out more about being part of a Discipleship Group. This will transform your life and equip you to GO and MAKE DISCIPLES!
