Years ago I came across a list of how every book in the Bible points us to Jesus and it inspired me to compose my own list. On February 22nd, I shared this during our morning worship service as we looked at the importance of expository preaching in 2 Timothy 3:16-4:5. I hope that this list encourages you to see how Scripture truly is inspired and Christ-Centered from beginning to end!
In Genesis, Jesus is the Promised Seed of the Woman to crush the head of the serpent once and for all
In Exodus, Jesus is the Promised Passover lamb, whose blood is sprinkled on the doorposts of His people
In Leviticus, Jesus is the High Priest
In Numbers, Jesus is the provider for His people in the wilderness
In Deuteronomy, Jesus is the Promised Prophet who is better than Moses
In Joshua, Jesus is the Conqueror who leads His people into the Promised Land

From Eden to Eternity, it has always been and will always be about Jesus - that’s why we must preach Jesus at South Gate Baptist Church!
